Information

Founded in 2020, Ampersand Speech is a full-service podcast production company, with the sole aim of thoughtful, creative, and edifying speech programming.

We’re here to help expand and add context to issues and conversations in your daily life, from tackling class and race dynamics in the UK, learning about life in another industry that you’ve been considering breaking into or moving across to, to innovative ways in which to combat climate change around the world.

Our flagship podcast is an interview series, - So, What Do You Do? - hosted by journalist and producer, Ben Hansen-Hicks. Each episode, we talk to another leading figure in TV, journalism, art, culture and more. Finding out what makes them tick, what their day-to-day life includes and - most importantly - what advice they have to share with someone looking to either break into or move across into the industry. Each episode typically runs at around 45-50 minutes, with new episodes airing fortnightly, on Monday afternoons at 3pm.

Season 2 is coming in August 2024, featuring Adjoa Andoh and many more.

Ben’s work has been featured on Radio 4’s ‘Costing the Earth’ long-running climate change and environment series (COP 26: Unheard Voices).
